Ask a Pol asks:

Last time I talked to Secrets Task Force Chair Anna Paulina Luna, she said you guys were looking into bringing UAP whistleblower David Grusch into a SCIF [sensitive compartmented information facility]. Any update?

Key Burlison:

”Yes, and into hiring him on staff,” Rep. Eric Burlison exclusively told Ask a Pol.

On your personal staff?

“Either my personal staff,” Burlison said. “I already talked to [Oversight Committee Chair James] Comer’s team about it. They're researching it.”

From your personal office, couldn't you just hire him?

“I can, but I think that it would be ideal if he were part of the committee,” Burlison continued. “That gives — he's not just working for me. He's working for the efforts of the team.”

Caught our ear:

It feels like the JFK and Epstein investigation are getting more attention than UAPs right now?

“It is. Yeah, definitely,” Burlison told us. “I've got my head down. If you — I think [Chair] Anna [Paulina Luna] has given me a lot of latitude to do this research.”

Is there any timeline? Or too early for timeline?

“It's too early,” Burlison told Ask a Pol. “I want to get [Grusch] hired. I want to get him on board and then just move quickly, because we don't have a lot of time.”

SCENE: Ahead of the House vote to avoid a government shutdown — which Rep. Eric Burlison initially opposed, though President Donald Trump convinced him to support it — Ask a Pol’s Matt Laslo waits in the wings as a few members of the congressional press corps interview him on the continuing resolution (CR).

As Burlison starts walking to the Capitol entrance, Laslo chats him up before the congressman jets through a Capitol Police security checkpoint, so he can grab a quick bite to eat during the vote series.

Matt Laslo: “Look at this young man.”

Eric Burlison: “Hey, what's up?”

ML: “You’re popular.”

Burlison laughs.

EB: “Yeah.”

ML: “I was curious, last time I talked to Luna, she said that you guys were looking in to bringing Grusch into a SCIF [sensitive compartmented information facility].”

EB: “Yes...”

ML: “Oh, really? On your personal staff?”

EB: “Either my personal staff, I think — I already talked to Comer’s team about it. They're researching it.”

ML: “Yeah?”

EB: “I need to go talk to them and ask them what's going on.”

ML: “They're researching bringing him into the SCIF?”

EB: “And bringing him on staff.”

ML: “Oh, interesting.”

ML: “Why…”

EB: “Kind of like a…”

ML: “From your personal office, couldn't you just hire him?”

EB: “I can, but I want to — I think that it would be ideal if he were part of the committee.”

ML: “Why so?”

EB: “Because I think that that gives — he's not just working for me. He's working for the efforts of the team.”

ML: “And the whole team is still investigating?”

EB: “Ahuh.”

ML: “Yeah? How does it — because it feels to some like JFK, Epstein is kind of getting more attention than UAPs right now?”

ICYMI — Wanna know a secret…

EB: “Right. It is, yeah, definitely. And so I'm staying — I've got my head down. If you — I think Anna [Paulina Luna] has, you know, given me a lot of latitude to do this research, so…”

ML: “And when do you think — is there any timeline? Or too early for timeline?”

EB: “I think it's too early, but we — I want to get him hired. I want to get him on board and then just move quickly, because we don't have a lot of time.”

ML: “Yeah, because there’s only a six month window on the task force…”

EB: “Yeah.”

They’re now just outside an entrance to the US Capitol.

ML: “…do you think…?”

EB: “I gotta go inside.”

Discussion about this episode

Awesome scoop Matt. Seriously appreciate you staying on them about Dave. Massive distractions abound between JFK, Epstein, drone activity, etc. As far as we all know, Dave has the keys to the kingdom and congressional investigation into his claims will yield the most fruit with the fewest efforts. I sincerely hope there is more effort on congress's part (and questioning from diligent journalists) directed this way.

Everyone should blow up Comer's office and insist he hires Grusch onto Oversight committee.

Please confront Rep Luna on the issues raised by Lester Nare regarding her failure to secure Dave Grusch's classified testimony. Thanks.

Do all the reps on the Oversight committee have ts/sci and any other tickets they need to hear Dave Grusch's classified testimony in private? Does hiring Dave Grusch on staff provide him with ironclad protection from DOD/MIC reprisal? Will the reps actually sit in and hear his testimony or will they delegate this to their staff and so continue the political rope a dope?
