Transparency advocates are up in arms over this year’s secretive NDAA—National Defense Authorization Act—conference negotiations, especially after reporters were only allowed in for less than 30 minutes to record four opening statements before getting the boot yesterday.
Many lawmakers were also frustrated after the proceedings gaveled to a close after less than two hours, because it seems much of the negotiations are being conducted behind closed-doors by party leaders in both chambers of Congress.
Sen. Joni Ernst (R-IA) and Rep. Joe Wilson (R-SC) are both members of the NDAA conference committee, and they help pull the veil back on the secretive process.
While neither know much of anything about the Senate-approved UAP (or UFO) provisions in that chamber’s version of the must-pass defense measure, they do shed light on the negotiations—well, the lack thereof.
