Below find a rough transcript of Ask a Pol’s exclusive interview with Rep. Andre Carson (D-IN), slightly edited for clarity.

TRANSCRIPT: Rep. Andre Carson

SCENE: Ahead of Thursday’s last vote in the House of Representatives for the week, Rep. Andre Carson just parked his car and is walking up to the Capitol when Ask a Pol’s Matt Laslo approaches him. A Fox News crew sees Laslo approaching Carson and tries to cut in, but Laslo gets Carson’s attention first, before allowing Fox to cut in.

Once they reach the Capitol steps, the Fox camera crew and reporter stop, but Laslo keeps walking with Carson until he reaches the Capitol Police security checkpoint.

Fox News: “Hey, Mr. Carson…”

The Fox crew is shouting from a distance, so Laslo makes eye contact with Carson and then cuts Fox off.

Matt Laslo: “What do you make of this Turner news?”

Andre Carson: “I don't have an opinion right now.”

Fox News: “You have to have — you're a member of the Intelligence Committee, you have to have an opinion on who the chairman of the Intelligence Committee is.”
